The dream of creating a world where everyone enjoys equal opportunities remains unfulfilled. This highlights the need to continue working in the right direction to turn this dream into reality. Whether in developed or developing countries, gender inequality has long been a significant obstacle. Building an educated, healthy, and progressive community is impossible without the equitable participation of women. Upholding gender equality and empowering women are fundamental steps toward a brighter future.

It is disheartening that, even in the 21st century, women are still fighting for their basic rights. Many individuals continue to dismiss gender inequality as mere rhetoric. However, harsh realities, backed by statistics, paint a very different picture:

• As of 2018, only 20 female Heads of State exist worldwide, representing a mere 6.3%.

• A child marriage occurs every minute, totaling 15 million every year.

• Nearly one in three women suffer from sexual abuse or physical violence (35% globally).

• Women earn 60-75% of what men earn for the same work, a gap of 25-40%.

• Two-thirds of the world’s 781 million illiterate adults are women.

• Over 63 million girls are still out of school.
